Attestation Flow compared with QC Read and Understood and QC Documents
Attestation Flow for Confluence 3.1.0 is the production version (30 October 2026). Last updated 1 November 2026. On the Atlassian Marketplace.
We make Attestation Flow for Confluence. This page is neutral by rule: we take no commission from any app we compare, every statement about the other app comes from its own Marketplace listing or documentation with the date and link, and where we could not check something we say so.
QC Read and Understood confirms that people have read a Confluence page. QC Documents controls documents with revisions, registries and page reviews. Attestation Flow records read confirmations per page version and, on a paid licence, periodic reviews. QC's apps have more installs, and they are cheaper. This page lays out the rest.
Everything about the QC apps comes from their Marketplace listings, read from the Marketplace REST on 30 October 2026. We did not install or test them. Everything about Attestation Flow is from our documentation, a live Confluence Cloud test site, or the released code.

Where the QC apps lead
#- Installed base, ratings and price. 343 installs and 17 reviews for QC Read and Understood, at a lower list price.
- E-mail notifications and a one-time password. Their listing names both. Attestation Flow sends no e-mail of its own: it mentions readers in a page comment, so Confluence notifies them.
- Languages. Six against our three.
- Document control. QC Documents has revisions, document IDs, QR codes and registries. Attestation Flow is not a document management app and does not try to be.
- Overviews. QC lists a Site Overview and a Space Overview. Attestation Flow has a space and a site compliance report, so they are comparable in kind.
Where Attestation Flow differs
#- A log in which every acknowledgement, requirement change and erasure is hash-chained and can be exported with the raw entries and the recipe, so it can be recomputed without our code.
- A checksum of the exact page version in each receipt, with a function that checks acknowledged versions against the stored content.
- Courses, a quiz and a minimum reading time before confirming, and approval of a version before readers are asked (all paid).
- A periodic review that does not create a page version.
- Erasure of a person for data-subject requests, and reporting of closed accounts to Atlassian.
None of these makes one app better for you. They matter if your auditor asks for them. Whether any of them satisfies a standard is for you and your auditor to decide; the apps produce records.
How to choose
#If you want a read confirmation in the cheapest and best-reviewed form, the QC app has the track record. If you need the version checksum, the quiz, the approval step or the verifiable log, look at Attestation Flow. If you are on QC Read and Understood and want to try ours, there is a switching guide that keeps your history as labelled imported history.
